You call that a riot? A riot is when the protesters start fighting back. Not when they shout "non-violence" when the police beat them down.
Riot is in the eye of the videographer

That is the subtitle (and youtube file title) chosen by the videographer. Notice that it is in quotation marks in this article, i didn't want to take credit for something that i didn't necessarily agree with.
I found other areas where i might differ with the videographer; on several occasions he praised the restraint of the police, and considering that they must have seemed like an implacable force of nature ready to smash everyone in their path, i'm inclined to believe that he may have been suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.

However, the videos record the ongoing situation over a period of 30 minutes, and that's worth making available on the site, imo.
best wishes,
richard

A true case of "good cop, bad cop".
One cop starts pursing a protester who is walking backwards and is starting to try to hit him with his baton.
His buddy grabs his arm and YANKS him back.
The one who restrained his fellow officer should get a commendation.

Excellent job done here by the police. They handled themselves very well with just some minor incidents. Now if these so-called "anti-war" "anarchist" protesters would handle themselves with civility more often, there would be no problems. When these bratty suburban kids get together to break some windows and destroy property, they insult the first amendment they claim to be protecting.
-great job police!!! :)
